Sprint roaming on the PCS network
About Sprint Roaming:
Because Sprint uses an "all digital network", there's a good chance you will find yourself in a situations where roaming is required.
Off-network roaming is required anytime you are not in an area where Sprint supplies coverage. Any calls you place, or receive, will be charged the additional roaming fee.
Although most of your cellular features will still work while
roaming, you will not be able to use Sprint's Vision network,
or any other digital service.
However, Sprint allows you the ability to control how you roam by
choosing one of three options;
- Automatic - The cell phone is forced to seek a
service. Sprint's PCS service is always sought first. If it cannot
find a tower, an alternate service is chosen.
- PCS - by choosing this setting, your cell phone
will only seek the carrier's PCS tower for coverage.
It will not seek off-network carriers or analog service.
- Analog only - your cell phone is forced to choose
an analog service, and off-network charges will be incurred.
The carrier offers a feature on all dual and tri-mode phones, called
"Call Guard". The device alerts you anytime your calls are being
placed out of your network area.
