Consumer Reports Wireless Survey 2009
In January of 2009, Consumer Reports rolled out their annual report card for our nation's four remaining cell phone carriers. This year, Consumer Reports National Research Center surveyed 51,700 cell phone users in 23 cities to determine which cellular service provided the best over-all satisfaction to their wireless subscribers. Verizon Wireless was again the stand-out carrier, receiving high marks in call connectivity and customer satisfaction. Altell, which recently merged with Verizon Wireless, also received high marks in the regional market. T-Mobile followed closely behind Verizon in the national market. Overall, the survey respondents reported a slight improvement in dropped calls and areas with poor or no reception with all the carriers. The full report, along with each carrier's ratings can be found in the January 2009 issue of Consumer Reports.
