Trial periods and the CTIA Consumer Code

In 2003, the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) developed a Consumer Code for the Wireless Industry.

The CTIA Code establishes a guideline in which cell phone companies can follow -on a voluntary basis

By signing the Code agreement, the wireless company is mandated to follow all steps of the agreement, not only a portion.

To date, all major wireless carriers have the CTIA seal, which means they have met the code's standards.

Each carrier must recertify annually to continue their membership with the CTIA.
