About Smart Phones and PDAs
Smart phones combine the voice capabilities of a cell phone, with a personal digital assistant, or PDA. The PDA allows the phone to function as an extension of your computer, so you can;
- Store contact information
- Make a task calander, or "to-do" list
- Take notes
- Keep track of important dates (date book, calendar)
- Appointment reminder (clock with alarm function)
- Calculate tips (Calculator)
What makes these phones "smart" is their ability to be programmed, much like your PC at home.
Most PDA phones come with their own operating software already installed, making programming them that much easier. However, if you'd like to program your
own application, most handsets are adaptable.
