Venture Mobile phones offer dual bands, which provide better coverage because they operate on both digital and analog networks.
Cognigen currently has six prepaid handsets to choose from. Two of the handsets are refurbished. Prices on the phones range from $59.99, to $129.99
Prepaid Plans and Prices:
Prepaid service plans are called Freedom Plans. The basic plan, which starts at $18.99 per month, offers unlimited nights and weekends. The plan does not include anytime minutes.
There are several other plans to choose from. Basically, each plan offers an additional 100 anytime minutes for $10 more per month.
Each plan comes with unlimited night and weekend minutes. Plans are pro-rated. You will receive a month of service from the day you start your plan. You are billed the same amount each month, unless you change your plan.
Roaming, overage, and additional charges:
Venture Mobile provides free long distance and roaming anywhere within Sprint's all digital network. However, if you roam outside the network, be prepared to pay hefty roaming charges.
Out-of-network roaming will cost you 93 cents per minute. These charges apply even if your call is placed during unlimited night and weekend hours.
If you use up all your available anytime minutes, a 20 cent per minute overage charge will be applied to any calls placed or received with a "0" balance.
Accessing the web will cost 69 cents per minute. The cost to text message is 8 cents per minute to both send and receive the text.
Suspension of service:
If you run out of minutes, you will need to purchase an additional month's worth of service. Your account will be suspended at this point unless you refill your minutes. Overage charges will apply to any calls placed during your zero balance.
