Virgin Mobile is one of the largest prepaid carriers in the world. The company provides prepaid service to Australia, Canada, USA and the United Kingdom. In the U.S.,Virgin Mobile phones operate on Sprint's all digital network. The network does not support analog calling. Long distance calling is free, as long as you're in Sprint's network. However, if you roam outside the network, your call will not go through. There is no roaming available with these handsets. Prices on the carrier's prepaid phones range from $24.99, for older clearanced handsets, to a digital camera phone that sells for $149. Other feature costs: Virgin Mobile offers two types of features for their prepaid phones, Virgin Xtras and Virgin XL.
Refill Cards and Termination: In order to continue your service, you must refill ("Top Up") every 90 days - even if you have a balance - or your account will become inactive. The minimum amount required to refill your minutes is $20. You can purchase any amount in five minute increments up to $100, but you are allowed the same 90 days to refill your minutes. If it becomes inactive, you have 60 days to purcase additional minutes to reactivate your account. If the account is not reactivated in this time period, you will lose your cell phone number and any unused minutes. |
